About me
I believe people can grow, change and make the best choices, but that we can also find ourselves dealing with problems that feel insurmountable. I have experience of how change follows when people decide to clear time to look honestly at their lives with the help of someone trained and experienced.
My approach has been developed working in the NHS, charity and private sectors for more than 13 years (before this I worked for media and international charities).
My training as a doctor of psychology meant having therapy myself (with two different therapists) so I know what it is like to be a client. It also taught me the value of scientific research into what clients say has helped them. As well as listening and empathy I see my role as offering suggestions and techniques based on the research.

Availability:
I will try to see everyone who approaches me for help, but sometimes this is not possible. It may be that I have no available appointments or a particular skill or type of training and experience is needed. For these reasons I can make referrals to other psychologists, all qualified as Doctors of Psychology like myself.
